Dear Hopie!

I`m Nicole and I`m going to tell you about me and my family (who we are, our activities, our town, where we life,..).

I am 15 years old and love to swim in a swimming-team. My team and I swim many competitions, last year we swam at the German Championchip in life-saving-swimming and won the 5th place in our group of age. I also love to ride and spend 3 times a week in the stable. Cooking (especially cakes) is a further favorit, sports and dancing, too. I dance the classic dancing (Disco-Fox, Quick-Step, ...). Further, I like to do funny things with my friends for example: to go shopping or to go to the cinema to Hamburg.

Hamburg is one of the biggest German towns and is really great, you can do nearly everything in Hamburg, like theatre, music festivals, museum. Hamburg has the most important harbour in Germany and is a gate to the world. It´s easy to get to Hamburg by train within 30 minutes.

Compared to this our Pinneberg is a small suburb with a shopping mall, a sports club ( they have really many sports) and many places to do outdoor sports like walking, biking, riding, jogging, ...

Further information about Pinneberg you can easily find here:

But I think that it is the best: the school is only 300 meters away of our home, so you can get up very late in the morning! The first lesson starts at 7.30 in the morning (really early in the morning) but school ends most times after seven lessons at 13.35, but than you have to do your homework (mostly it is not very much).

Oh! I`ve forgotten to introduce you to the other family members! There is my father Georg (43 years old). He works as a computer-specialist and is a computerfreak. Sometimes he is really crazy with computers. But he is 'voll OK'.

My mother Evelyn (43 years old, too) works two times a week in a local library and loves to read books, but she hasn`t got enough time. She also loves to do patchwork and quilting. Everybody in our family has got a patchwork quilt.

My sister Anja is 16 years old and she will go to Canada next August. One of her hobbies is playing her piano, if you want, you can play it, too. She also dances and loves swimming. Anja also is in the theater club of our school.

This is my brother, Jörg; he is 9 years old and a little bit disabled. He cannot speak normally, but he uses a sign- and loudspeach to make him understood - when you know him a short while you will learn to understand his language. He loves trains and to be outside all the day, so he is sometimes a little bit wiry, when he isn`t allowed to do what he wants, like any other little brother, too.

We all life in a terraced house and everyone has his own room. The kitchen and living room are on the ground floor. Anja and I have the biggest rooms in the house, Anja's has an additional shower. This will be your room.

I hope you got a nice impression of our family and of our family life.

We are looking fordward to see you, and hope you, too.

Yours

Nicole
